Current Research Activities
He has published over 275 peer-reviewed articles on a variety of topics and his research interests focus on outcomes research in hypertension, heart failure, diabetes mellitus, perioperative care, and coronary artery disease, as well as clinical epidemiology methodology with a focus on guideline development and implementation schemes, trial methodology, and systematic reviews.

He has received the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine Young Investigator Award, the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine Translational Research Award, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Gold Medal in Medicine Research.
