Welcome to the Alberta Diabetes Institute
The Alberta Diabetes Institute boasts a collaborative and fully integrated research environment where world class researchers work together to answer the difficult questions surrounding diabetes.
Members of the Institute have a common goal of translating research knowledge into new clinical therapies and/or practices which will improve quality of life of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Research at the ADI ranges from in vitro and in vivo studies conducted in the ADI’s labs — to clinical trials as well as health outcomes and public health research. All of this work is critical in the ADI’s goal of finding a cure for diabetes and falls within one or more of the Institute’s five areas of excellence.
To enhance teamwork and collaboration, integrate knowledge gained from our research activities and communicate this knowledge translation process to our stakeholders, the website includes a new “pipeline” for each area of excellence, outlining and describing the different ongoing research projects.
Whether you are interested in learning about diabetes, joining our research team or supporting the Institute, these pages will keep you informed of what is currently going on in diabetes research at the ADI. I hope that internal and external users alike will enjoy our website and find the information and tools provided helpful.
